Scoping an AR-15

I have a new AR-15 with 1:9 twist 16.5" barrel with detachable carrying handle.

I would like to put a scope on it.
I don't shoot much past 50m.

Will probably shoot varmints (squirrels and groundhogs) with it... (Yes, legally, in Vermont).

I am looking in $200-$300 range.

What do you suggest?

I kinda like the Bushnell Holosight GenII.

At half the price of an eotech, the bushnell is not a bad sight... But I like to be able to have some magnification.

If I'd be buying again, I'd give serious thought to either the Millet 1-4X24 DMS

or a Falcon 1.5-5X30

Me personaly. If I couldn't get an acog with a piggy back red dot like this set-up;

I would get an EoTech or Aimpont with a flip to side magnifier setup like this;

68 mm. very comfortable when used with rubber eye piece it's just perfect. plus it has illuminated reticle which is real bonus in the dusk for my old eyes...
