Scoping out SL-8

The ACOG does sit high on the rifle but it can't be helped as the rail is very high on the rifle. I would guesstimate that it is about 2" over bore (still pretty high) Problem with rail is that most optics' obj bells will hit the rail unless I use very high rings. Hence why I was asking what most guys with SL-8s are using for optics because I am having problems mounting the scope low to the bore... So general consensus is move the ACOG back to AR and get another scope?

I went to a cheapie Tasco that goes 6x24. It fits and it ain't that bad for a bargain basement scope. Smacking the gongs at 300 is child's play off the bipod.

 I haven't fired mine yet too busy on course at work (LAV III Gnr Crse) and I want to put some good optics on it first before I take it to the range to zero it.

how are these for cleaning i heard that the G36 action requires vary little cleaning how bad is it after a day of hard use say 1000 rnds

Rohan, mine is solidly in the 3/4" MOA range. My load is a Horn. 75gr. HPBT match bullet, 23.8 gr W748, in a WW case wth a Federal Match primer. Off the bipod I open up the groups a bit to a little over 2 inches at 200.

I am really beginning to love the way this rifle handles off hand too. To begin with it was very uncomfortable to shoot.
