Score 12g 00 buck feeding issues

I brought this up in Wolverine's thread about Score buckshot. The ammo is a small step above garbage IMO. That crimp is not unusual. They don't use buffer or plated shot so all in all it doesn't pattern worth a ####. Crappy blasting ammo at best.

I have never seen factory shells so bad in my 55 years of pulling handles. I would try to return them if you can
Wad is way too low which resulted in the deep recessed petals. To me a filler wad was needed and a 8 point vs a 6 point die and less wad pressure
Looks like something my daughter would reload at age 8 but hers were even better

My first reloads looked better.

I think 3macs is rigt on - should be 8 point crimp die, either used wrong wad or set the die too deep

It is harder to get a good 6 point crimp than it is to get a 8 that is the point I was making
Why do you think they are normally only used on hunting loads which are a much lower volume produced and junk hulls vs target loads
6 point don't require a skive 8 point does so cheaper to do since one step is eliminated in the production line but 8 point gives a much nicer finished product especially when semi's are involed

I was looking at buy a case of these but not now. what were they loaded with a lee loader? because that's about why my crimps look like with that if I don't use a mec crimp starter.

looking at challenger I wish my crimps looked like theirs.

Never had issues with their ammo, but I primarily use their slugs, never had feeding issues with a semi even with the buck, I have Some ammo from them that is a few years old and it has clean crimps, maybe they had had some new machine qc/teething issues??

On the plus side they are a good small Canadian company that’s easy to deal with, I would try contacting them if you got a really bad batch, I will keep buyin their slugs, need to support Canadian companies right now.
 
Just got 200 of them in the mail, they look identical to the pictures in this thread. Haven't tried them in any of my shotguns yet but probably will this weekend. They look el cheapo but hey, if they work they work. Don't think I'll be buying them again though.
 
I just got 2 boxes of 00 buck with the same issue, unfortunately it may be a while before I'm able to give them a try. Also got 2 boxes of their competition slugs, which look fine.
 
A overshot card and no wad pressure would have corrected those loads component height way to short . And a 8 point crimp would tighten every thing up . Those Cheddite hulls are never my first choice . You could pry them open and put a card on the shot and re crimp .Not great quality control hope they clean up their production methods . My two cents.

250 buck and 250 slugs arrived the other day. Didn't even inspect them until just after reading this post. Mine aren't as bad as OP's, but they aren't pretty. Only bought Score because Challenger was out of stock. Now I see a bunch of Challenger hitting stores and I'm regretting waiting..

Agree 100%. The cam was set to low from the swirl in some of the crimps
