Score 12g 00 buck feeding issues

I just got off the phone with Ismail from Score. I shared the pictures and link to this thread. He explained the manufacturing process and how 00 is always difficult to load and they decided on the current manufacturing process to save money. He assured me the ammo is completely safe, quality checked for shot pattern and feeding, and that he guaranteed it was better than Champion. He also said it's possible to have a bad batch and if so they would take care us. Apparently the 00 manufacturing process changed in 2020 and we may have 2019 product, or something made on a Monday morning.. He's going to send me pictures of the 2020 product.

Perhaps someone with a little more knowledge on shot shells can talk to them and inform the community better than i?

I used the contact page on the website and had a response within an hour, followed by a phone call. As of writing I've been the only one to contact them on this apparently.

I have never seen a problem with crimping buckshot from any other manufacture. I call this a crock a slight adjustment to machinery and it will be better.

It is never a good sign when a company cuts corners on their product to save some money. Like mentioned, it is a simple cost effective fix. The fact they are Canadian means buyers are proud to buy their product, but I would pass on this due to what you just said...

I've never used Score brand buckshot, but I have hundreds of rounds of their black hull high velocity "thug slug" and those are awesome.
For buckshot, I typically use Challenger and I have a bunch of European made low recoil stuff. Both of those brands have been perfectly fine.

The statement about quality and safety checked by the company is dubious at best . With crimps like that the pressure and velocity and mean deviation spreads would be all over the place. I wish the company well we need Canadian content hope they correct production .

Mastermind, thanks for taking the time to call Score. What they told you is a somewhat shocking.

Fine, I don't doubt that the ammo is safe to shoot. But as others have said with crimps like this feeding issues are a concern in repeating actions.

I am glad the #4Buck I got from them doesn't have this issue & I am not sure I would buy more without being able to see it in person to check.

Poor customer service by Score IMHO.

Cheers

Ok new update, called score after no email reply, dude picked up, it's Saturday so props to him, told him about this thread, and he was aware of it. Told him I was the OP and the pictures were of my shells.
He said it's a challenging load to produce and that their buckshot has got a lot better. He asked for my address and asked if he sent me a check for 100 bucks if that would be ok.
He also mentioned that they were using shot that was possibly too big at first.
Maybe I'll take the 100 bucks and spend it on score ammo, but I'll open boxes before I buy now and give them another shot

Take the money or ask for a replacement case
