Score target ammo

I use between 30 and 40 flats a year, been using it for about three years and maybe three rounds total that were duds.

Score uses Cheddite primed hulls to load their ammo. Problem is with the Cheddite primers if you experience a miss fire. Cheddite primers are very inexpensive. I shoot Score fodder all the time and IMO they manufacture superb target loads... just disassemble a round and look at the roundness of the shot. Wholesale marketed a lot their products but since Wholesale folded I feel Score has to scramble for a new place in the market.

I emailed Score just last week, to inquire about whether they use cheddite primers in their target loads. Tom responded that they use Maxam primers (which I’ve never heard of before).

I’ve got a flat of their 1 1/8oz 7.5’s on the way for testing.

I've never seen Score shot shells in any Ontario gun shop that I've visited ! Too bad, I'd give them a try along with Kent if I could find some locally (Ottawa).

I bought many flats of Score Bronze target loads (they are now 'standard target') from Wholesale and from ammosupply.ca before they went under / got bought out (miss you, Kate) and find it very good for the $$. I am down to my last couple, so will have to find a new source next year some time.

The (old) 24g and 1oz loads were soft shooting out of a pump, and while I didn't have a semi for long, I found Score to be less dirty than the Remington Club.

:shotgun:

Score offer a 1oz 1100fps load branded as low recoil and I have really taken a liking to them in my o/u. Really pleasant to shoot.

Have shot about 20 case of score target as well as the Kent target load. Found that the score breaks targets just as well as all the other brands. Biggest difference I see is the score shells are dirty and leave a lot of plastic residue from the wads. If cleaning after a couple hundred rounds no big deal.
