Have you given any thought to the 284 Win ? Superior to the 308 and still functional through the short action...............or a 30-284, common wildcat and a good step up from the 308, dies available from Huntingtons in Cal.

I haven't, I'm pretty set on the 300 Savage. I'm pretty well represented with ultra velocity cartridges at this point so I'm looking to build a couple or three rifles chambered in more traditional hunting cartridges.

Sadly, I won't be able to make the show.
 
One of three, photobucket is VERY SLOW and glitchy yet again today :mad: I won't be posting any more pics today. I got the parcel notice for the 260 today though, so when I post pics of it, you'll get to see action #2. You'll then just have to trust me that I have a third...:cool:

Nice Find , Being a lefty too and having 2 SS long actions myself I thought they were rare . Did you get them out of the U.S? That's were I have seen them but not up hear.

Was supposed to be a fluted Benchmark but the flutes ran too long for a 24" barrel...so ended up as a #3 Shilen I had on the shelf. The Benchmark will have to become part a future 26" 264 Win Mag I suppose...:redface:

The pics are absolute crap, I don't have a laptop to upload camera pics via usb so stuck with this hunk of junk...

I'm quite pleased, very happy with Guntech's work. Wouldn't hesitate to hire him again, was crazy fast and very reasonably priced. I won't get to the range for a couple of weeks, if she's a shooter I'll be discussing the 300 Savage project with Dennis for sure.

I shipped all the parts out to him on Jan 10 from Calgary, it arrived back to me this afternoon...:d
