Scorpio EM332A 22LR Bolt rifle 20" vs NS522

It's Saturday...will one of you guys shoot the darn thing so we can get a range report? :) :)
Its pi$$ing down rain here, BUY ONE!! $229., they will be accurate for sure, although I am not big on tacticool stocks, this one feels good to me, it is ambi, we know the receiver is a very good one and as Hitzy has determined, it's a hammer forged Barrel, good trigger, and a nice price! I hope North Sylva brings these in with the full bull barrel too!

Hey bobthebuilder~I am tempted, but with lots of 22s in the quiver already....I'm not feeling like much of a gambler at the moment. Besides, I'm holding out for a Rossi Pump SAC...which means, I'm saving for no good reason at all. lol

I bought one of these rifles for my son today from our local gun shop. Quality seems OK, I had to take a burr off the bolt and where the bolt handle sits. They didn't impede function, burrs just drive me nuts. Finish is pretty good once the rifle was cleaned and oiled up. My one ##### is that the rear sight has two different types screws that need to be loosened to adjust windage and height. Trigger seems light and crisp, no creep. It was a little gritty but cleaning fixed that.

This rifle is a tinkerer's dream, everything comes apart easily (except the front sight as detailed above). 6 screws and you are left with a barrel and receiver. Trigger comes off and apart along with the magazine well.
The manual even goes into disassembly of the bolt. Usually the manual ends at taking the bolt out, anything else beyond that an most manuals I have tells you to take it to a gunsmith.

I'll be taking it out to the range next week, weather permitting.

That stock looks very familiar, was it on another Norinco? I need another 22 like a hole in the head, but if it's a good shooter I 'll buy one ...anybody know what the supply us like?( O've made that mistake with Norinco before, wait to see reviews and they're gone

I'm certainly looking forward to seeing a range report..whoever gets out to shoot one, please share your opinions and general observations...there's very little information available so far.I'm not sure who all is going to carry them, canada ammo isn't so far, there's probably not much of a markup on rifles in this pricerange

Fair warning I am not an expert on writing gun reviews... I had mine out last week and once the scope was zeroed I found it to be quite accurate at 50m. Holes were touching each other, sorry no pics it was -15 so phone/camera stayed in the truck. The 100m gongs and 150 gongs were easy targets and I could ring them every shot.

The trigger is like a two stage, squeeze it until there is resistance then it breaks. Light trigger pull though. The only downside was I had to fight with the mag to get it seated both open bolt or closed. I think the hole where it locks in is cut a hair low. Once locked in feeding and extraction were no problem. And it's got a mighty throw when it extracts so be mindful of the guy sitting next to you.

Next time I take it I'll take pics and better notes.

Many thanks...I'm no expert or bench rest shooter(all my 22shooting is casual plinking or small game hunting)but I understand a 'match chamber' ,light crisp trigger and a recessed crown are features of accurate 22's....does the Scorpio EM 332 have all those features? From the configuration it looks more like a ' walking shooter ' than a bench rest rifle such as a Schultz and Larson. How would you rate it compared to a JW 15 ?
The stock is sort of interesting,I would think it was more what I would expect on a semi automatic than a bolt action but as long as I 'feels right' it's ok..

Just ordered one from Durham on your say so...worst that can happen is my wife says I've got too many 22's....which I do...

I don't know if it's got a match chamber or not. The barrel is not crowned like a target rifle. And I like the trigger, it's light. I do like the stock myself, it fits nicely and points well. For a light hunter or plinker I think you are going to be happy with it.

As for too many .22s? There is always room for one more...

I guess as more people try them out we'll get some more range reports ,not sure when mine will arrive..and be added to the other 30( last count, but I've bought a few more since then - I tell my wife I'm buying for my grandkids now)

Since I can't use open sights anymore, What's the best scope mount for them? My intended use, like all my 22's is casual target and small game shooting ,typically under 50 yards
