Scorpio SKS-15 7.62x39mm Non-Restricted

Well that gun look kinda cool!!! looking forward to a video review/range report at som point in the future. well done north sylva.

I think this is a viable SKS option. I have a few pimped out/mag adapter SKS rifles I use for my commercial range, and they always go through at least a case of non corrosive ammo before a full strip, with no loss of function or accuracy. For most people- if they use non corrosive- complete strip would be a couple of times a year, unless they subscribe to a cleaning schedule of cleaning after every range session. Although those types may enjoy the takedown process! :) Most of my rifles have 5-10k rounds through them with no real issue

Just throwing this out, but if North Sylva wants a completely unbiased review, I would be happy to do it. It's my slow time of year, but I'm sure I would get through 1000 rounds in a month. Although they probably have people lined up to do 1000 in an afternoon! :)

If they give me a gun I'll do a biased review. ;)

haha

I would buy the gun if I really liked it or send it back if I didn't. It's just an idea. My tacticool SKS rifles have bipods and scopes, and I woluld outfit this rifle the same

NS is probably putting it through the paces without me,, though :)

Whoever is doing the review, I'm watching. I bought a previous rifle (SKS-KD) from Kodiak Defense but didn't like the AK mags with no hold open. Rifle worked very well otherwise. Now, with proper mags and 10 rounds, this might be the ticket.

kind of interesting but the fact it is fed with xcr mags is questionable considering the main shortfall of the xcr-l in 7.2x39 seems to be the magazines as that cartridge doesnt seem to like that style of magazine.

once the mags have had a few mag fulls of ammo cycled through them they work fine. mine were a ##### for the first few hundred rounds now they are smooth as butter

Looks like a cool set-up.

I personally would only shoot non-corrosive ammo in it, so taking it apart would be very seldom.

Cheap surplus ammo is banned at most places that I shoot now anyways.

We are currently busy working on several videos showing reliability at the range as well as the disassembly process. Please stay tuned.

You need to get one rifle to "Hickock-45", and another rifle to "Nutnfancy".

Those guys make good gun videos.

Fascinating.

The take-down process for cleaning is a bit involved, and that's a concern, but it appears to be a well thought out and put together package.

Is it on my 'must buy' list? Hrm. No.

Would I like to get hands on and try one out? Yup. Ergonomics of the original SKS's always left a bit to be desired in my experience.

I think the best thing in my case though is to wait and see if a V2.0 comes out with a better take-down/cleaning process.

10 rounds, non restricted, 7.62x39mm, xcr mag, full top rail, optic ready, interchangeable m4 stock and grip, 18.5 with threaded barrel & flashhider.. under $1000 what's not to like? I'll probably pick one up in the future. Goodjob Kodiak
