Has anyone tried these scopes??? They are fairly new, distributed by CDN Hunter Supply out of Winnipeg. If it is a quality product I would prefer to support a Canadian company. From their website & commercials they look promising. If they are as good as advertised I have a few fellow patriots willing to support the Canadian economy. And what would be better than putting a big Alberta mulie in the crosshairs of a Canadian made scope?

I have never heard of this brand of optics or the distributor. Please let us know the results. I wonder if this is similar to King Optics who also claim to design and manufacture their optics while in fact it is just re- branded Chinese manufacture? Phil.

King Optics, is not rebranded Chinese....ouch that would be bad. I believe the optics themselves are from Japan, but the manufacturing of the scopes for both King Optics and Scorpion occurs here in Canada. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

I don't see any indication whatever that Scorpion scopes are made in Canada.

Could the OP please add a link or something?

(Hell, as far as that goes, most Canadians aren't even made in Canada any more...)

I doubt Scorpion is even assembled here, let alone manufactured. Not to say it isn't a decent scope for the money. It's pretty hard to compete with Asia in an under $400 scope. I couldn't find any details on Scorpion Optics on the net, aside from a few places selling them. If the price and quality is a decent blend, I'd certainly be open minded about them. I know one of our members on this board who used to sell Meuller, now sells Scorpion Optics. The Meullers I have were good for the price.

"Designed in Manitoba" says the website. I would imagine that if they were manufactured here, they would say so. It's unrealistic to expect actual manufacturing here. That would be quite the large endevour and I'm sure we would have heard about it.

well, if nothing else, atleast they aren't extremely overpriced like king optics :)

the scopes definately remind me of other manufacturers, i keep thinking the marksmen line look like weavers, but the venom scopes are familiar but i can't place it.

Just guessing here but I think Leapers, Scorpion, Quigley Ford, NC Star, and all the other "no name" brands of scope are made by the same Chinese factory and just rebranded.

At least you somewhat get what you pay for as opposed to King Optics.;)

I thought King Optics were assembled in some guys garage...........

It's true, I'm taking a break from Mueller to try out the Scorpion Venom series. The last couple of Mueller batches had a higher return rate than usual and are rated by caliber. When I asked Bob at CDN he told me how he tested the Venoms on big bore guns and was very impressed on how well they did. If I'm not comfortable selling something 100% then I won't. I can't argue with the "Sting Free" warranty either. They are higher in price MSRP than Muellers but I am trying to keep it lower than anyone else because they are new and need to build their reputation. Their main site is scorpionoptics . net and I did tell them last week that a Google search doesn't yet bring that site up near the top. Feel free to ask me questions.

Cheers!

I can't see them doing well sorry to say. Consider there "Venom hi-grade" series. Why would you buy a Chinese optic in that price range when there is already so many choices on quality, field-proven non-chinese optics in the price range? (Bushnell 3200, Burris Fullfield II, Nikon Buckmaster, Leupold VX-1 even the Redfields)

:D:DI just bought a Scorpion from Battle river sports in stettler yesterday. they are selling very well and they have had none returned. the guys behing the counter are using them also, with good things to say about them too. I mounted mine on a Marlin 7mm-08. Will sight her in when the weather warms up.

I use and sell Scorpion Optics and like them and haven't had any problems with any of my customers and if i do the no sting warranty is there to back them up. Have mounted the venom grade on a .338 Lapua and it holds 0 no problem. I will be testing them out more as time gos by and they also came out this year with a venom 4-16x50AESF 30mm tube for $549.95 and a 6-24x50AESF 30mm tube for $599.95 but there is no more Marksman 4-16x50 AO or 6-24x50 AO. Oh just about forgot about the new 1500 YD/M Range finder $379.95.
