Scout mount on Marlin 1895 GS, suggestions please

I took it out to the range today. It took a lot of UP vertical adustment but it's sighted in 3" high at 100 yds and is hitting 4" low at 190 yards.

My best group was 1.5" at 100 yds. No sandbags as I forgot them as usual. Just shot it off the bench with a front rest. I'm sure t can do better with bags and maybe a bigger target.

My group opened up to 3.5" at 190 yds but that was definitely me as I could barely see my target. A larger black inverted triangle would give me a better sight picture with the FXII 2.5x.

She's all loctited now and ready for deer season.

Sounds good, you'll have fun with it and put game down QUICK. What bullet are you shooting? Ooops, never mind, I checked your first post and it is the Hornady Lerverevolution stuff. Did you chonograph it?

I didn't chrony the 2 different Leverevolution loads but they seemed to impact at the same point at 100 yards. The recoil was mild off the bench but the muzzle flash was pronounced on a rainy day.

Here's how it turned out with a Leupold FXII 2.5x EER scope in Burris QD rings on an XS scout mount.

It definitely affects the weight and balance of the rifle but it also makes it a 200 yard deer/bear rifle.
