I have two Scout rifles built on Rem 600 actions, they are a light, easy to carry and easy to hit with (at reasonable ranges) rifle. Both are in 308. - dan
Well I sold five rifles and bought one 4 years ago and haven't regretted it. I have tried all sorts of optics and have the Leupie scout scope with heavy reticle on it and it suits the concept of course. I like mine for knocking 5 caribou at a go down and 150 Noslers driven by RL15 lay them into .75 inch groups and knock the stuffing out of 300 pound boo.
The ergos are unbeatable...however, mine suffered the bipod break which is a design flaw but I got the plastic bipod stud replaced with the aluminum replacement fix. No other problems but a bit anoying on a 2000.00 peice of gear.
Still a fantastic one rifle choice and the 308 is a surprisingly capable round.
I have two 660's one in 6.5 Rem Mag and one in 350. Great guns but not in the same class as the Steyer IMO.
