Took a trip into a new area with a new partner this last weekend. 13 km and over 1000 m in elevation gain to camp. Stayed two nights. Never saw any mature rams, but I know they are around. Within a 45 minute hike from camp we were able to glass over 50 ewes/lambs/young rams in 4 different groups. Saw 4 different goats. 2 solitary squeaker rams and a bachelor group of three immature rams.

Thinking this is the area and really looking forward to August. Anyone else been doing any scouting? Post pics! Any area any species.

This goat was hanging around a group of sheep at a natural mineral lick.

These sheep started coming over the ridge behind us while we were glassing sheep below us.

The immature bachelor group. Check out the colour difference between the three.

Scouting?????????????
This time of year is listening to the wifie nag......nag........nag.
Load up the boat and go fishing.

Great photos...............thanks.

you guys had a great week end I have to go to Edmonton for updating my safety tickets and was thinking of doing the same thing on my way back throw Alberta add a bit of fishing in Jasper and more fishing in the Skeena river around Terrace BC should make for a wicked trip

We just ordered up 10,000 bucks worth of stainless stock for the shop and I made sure to pad the order so I have enough .062 , 1" square tube to make a bunch of treestands.
Heading in next week to put in a couple store bought 2 man units and as we build the singles we'll continue to set em up and scout.
Can't wait for mulie season ;)
Setting up lots of stands this year for mentoring some new deer hunters. Should be fun... And they get to help with the work this summer ;)
Happy scoutin everyone.

Took the week off work and was sure I was out in the mountains doing some scouting as well. Not much in the way of sheep where we toured around, but I was able to find some mature sheep much further off that will be the focus of another scouting trip. Of course more on the road on the way home!! Some pictures of course:
