scratches on 870

i got a 870 awhile back and the guy i got it off of mad a messa tac saddle and rail on it but he didnt have the part on the receiver attacked to it so its scratched the hell outta it theres also some scratches on the mag tube where the clamp is... not pics tho... anyone know if theres a way i can fix it???

Only way I know of is to refinish it, could paint/coat over it if you degrease it really well.

It's crappy blueing over sandblasting... They only parkerize the 870P and MCS

Its not even Parkerizing, its a cold blue on a bead blasted surface, basically anything would be an improvement.

so apperently tacord could build me a custom one for $2000 next month but they cant do a job on my gun till late fall??... so does anyone know another place that does it in southern ontario

If you want it to just be less noticeable clean it up with some rubbing alchohol and rub it down with some cold blue, won't be like new but will look better than it is until you can get it coated.

Could degrease and paint with lots of readily available paints to fix it short term.

Most any finish will need touch ups over time.

This except I coat my 870 with car wax. It protects it way better. This is the gun I abuse. My other guns get more loving...

Patina is the "in" thing right now. Sell for premium with it's new battlefield pickup type finish, buy a shiny-ish new one. Repeat. Profit.
