Screw size for 10/22 mount

Hi there I'm not home currently but want to grab a tap to fix a messed up hole on my reciever.lent gun to a dummy and apparently the mount was loose so it was taken off and put back on and one of the holes was done in. It's a 10/22 laminate with what I think is a usual factory scope mount. Thanks in advance

It is usually better to go up to 8-40 for all the holes and get new screws. 6-48's don't repair well after they get stripped. You can run an 8-40 tap right into the soft alloy no problem, you don't even have to drill it out but you can if you wish, #28 drill.
