Seal Hunting

With the warm weather we had here last week I expected to see seals out on the ice, but they didn't come up. There is a big lead out there and I expect that's where the seals are, but ice conditions are very rough, and I haven't been able to get to it. I hope to get some before they start shedding in April.

I too would enjoy hunting and KILLING........your dog and cat.
Is sport killing or just fun in killing.

I understand that dogs and humans taste good as well.

It really pisses me off that whenever a group or indidvidual is against the seal hunt the first thing they bring up are those poor little white coats. How often do we have to say it, "Canadian sealers are not permitted to kill whitecoats, or even Blue backs". With regards to the clubbing not being humane, what do you think would cause you to die quicker;

1- A spike being drove down through your head with one big blow.

or

2- being shot with a rifle from a moving boat.

All these organizations against the seal hunt don't want it to stop anyway, where would they make their money? Right now while the seal hunt is going on they recieve millions of dollars in donations to try and stop the hunt. If the seal hunt is stopped how would they make their money?

I have my seal license, and with any luck there will be seal blood in the bottom of my boat in another few weeks. Besides the fact that they are very fun to hunt in the open water, they make great gravy, and at a possible $80 a pelt they make a great supplement to your income. It may not sound like much, but if I'm lucky enough to go out one day and get 10 seals that's a possible $800 in my pocket. To me anyways, thats a fine chunk of change.

Whenever has been movie stars, ex beatles, trolls, or other spokesmen of the "liberal global conspiracy" spew their nonsense concerning the topic of the day, I am tempted to take the time to explain my position, based on the facts as I understand them to be. I might try to explain that humane treatment of animals must be measured against the daily challenges those animals face in nature, for example, a seal killed by a man dies more "humanely" than a seal killed by a polar bear. Of coarse such explanations are lost on those who believe it is wrong to kill anything for any reason. Maybe someone should explain it to the polar bear.

Anyone who is old enough to vote should be able to support their position with facts, and those who support their position solely on emotional arguments, seldom have a position to defend or debate. They do tend however to make a lot of noise, and many weak minded individuals are quick to join the din.
