seal products and shops

Seal products look great but they are not cheap. The tourist trap places on the rock scared the life out of me.

if you know someone that can provide you some skins and someone that can work on them ...

but supporting it by money way is the only way.

i'm not Pamela in no ways but I stand my ground with those guys ....

I'm not sure of the regs on seals here in NS but I don't know of any seals being harvested. From what I have heard from fishermen the seal population needs to be thinned down, at least on my coast.

Nope Phil you sure ain't..............LOL
I don't know how to respond to this but I don't need to here anything else on this subject :)

I did not mean to speak against the guys making a living on the rock selling stuff to tourists. Everyone needs to make a living, but 3500 for a coat is above my pay scale.

Another idea for the seal industry; Why is there no outfitting business offering a rifle seal hunt, I'd be willing to spend a couple thousands bucks to shoot a few seals and keep the pelts.

Anyone know where I can buy a pair of Pam Anderson skin boots? I'm pretty sure there must be hundreds of plastic surgeons with tonnes of excess PA skin just lying around! cp:

In all seriousness...thanks for all the support guys! There's a learning program going on in my community (I live in northern Labrador) right now, to teach people how to clean/prepare seal skins, and another one to teach crafters how to transform those seal skins into traditional boots. If those traditional seal skin boots are put up for sale, I'll be sure to let you all know!

That's still a better mental picture, than Phil in a speedo running down the beach............:(:(

Phil...red one-piece...running on the beach...:puke:

you guys I like you very much but in that case the name calling has been to far .... next time you will tell me that im Shrek, the green giant or even the Grinch .....

I will let it go for two reasons of course for the sake of good humour and secondly for that cause ... no blond wig has been harmed for this mental picture you had Doug and BUM so the honor is safe ...

and Santa is coming ......

I got my dad a pair of mitts. Genuinely Inuit made, not the touristy crap. Have to keep them in the freezer, as mentioned before, they don't tan things. Very very very nice. Very very very very warm. Best $100 I've spent in a while

I can remember when seal skin boots were all the Rage. Damn Greenpeace :)

Grizz
They just have to shape them into uggz and give a par for some famous chick to promote millions would be sold. I hate those boots some chicks look like they live in a cave when they wear those.

Anyone looking for sealskin products can send me a PM. I'm really into the promotion of sealskin products and can act as a middleman between the Inuit harvesters and Southerners interested in obtaining sealskin. A lot of quality work is done in the community I live in and there is no shortage of Ring Seal.
