In Ontario they've become quite a problem too. People buy them, find they're not easy to house train, then just drive into the country and release them. Now they've cross-bred with bloody Kangaroos that escaped from a Zoo. So we have a creature that can handle the winters, can run like hell and swim, well, like a seal. Quite edible I hear - said to taste like chicken. A cull is being considered, because of fear they will continue to cross-breed (can you imagine wolf genes being added to that?), but of course now we have the Kangaroo and Seal Protection Societies teaming up to oppose that.
