I have looked at that sight, when you get into good sporting rifles the price sure goes up.
Here are some pictures of the Fraser Action
This has to be one of the nices actions going, it is only 1 1/2 X 2 X 3 inches deep. I understand they made them up to 500 nitro but a lot were made in 303 when the nitro guns came out. I have to make a part for the lever release then I should be able to shoot this gun.

I've got a few Alex Henrys, but only one that was a sealer, same caliber and the rowboat's letters carved in the stock and stamped under the forend. Have you checked yours in this location? I believe the stamping was done at the time of manufacture.
These sealers guns are rare as the salt water and conditions did a number on most of them, hence few survivors.
As shooters, they can be excellent, just need the right paper patch mould. I have another in 450/400 that Ralf Martini rebarreled, shoots 1 1/2" @ 100!
And classed as Antique!

Alex Henry made some very good target rifles, he was an officer in the Militia/volunteers and also his shop produced some lovely .303 sporting rifles on Lee Speed actions before 1913. We see the occaisional one pop up in competitions. I must ensure I take my new digital camera everywhere this year!

What is the serial number of you Alex Henry from the boat, mine is 5648 and on the sheet from Dickson MacNaughton who has the Alex Henry name and records it was made in 1874 and it show 7 guns the same bought by 2 different pepole. The sheet runs out on the 7th so there may haver been more. There is no markings under the forend on my gun and ther serial number is on the barrel

My barrel number on the sealer is 5229, made 12/68,and the action number is 1909, making it 1869 production. If you're into the English stuff, I've just gotten a copy of "London Gunmakers" by Christies and it provides all the serial numbers and dates of production for most makers, ......on of 60 copies! ~Arctic~
