Hi guys,

I just start reloading and I am confused about the loading data that hodgdon list on their website.

I want to load:
9mm luger
CAMPRO 115gr. FCP RN .355 diameter
Hodgdon CFE pistols powder

The load on the website is refering to 115gr. SPR GDHP .355 and 115gr. LRN .355

Wich one should i refer to?

Should I refer FCP as a FMJ?

Thanks

One is a jacketed hollow point the other is a lead bullet. You can use either for a starting load. Most will say load using the lead bullet starting weight since a plated bullet is closer to the lead but I've found no issues using jacketed data when using plated bullets.

I get velocities closer to lead bullets rather than FMJ when using Campro, AIM or Berry's plated bullets. 5.0 grains of CFE under a 115 grain is at the low end of the range and gets just under 1,000 fps with OAL of 1.12".

I find CFE is kinda slow (and is a bit sooty as a result) for use in light 9mm loads and think it is best when used for full-on high-power loads.
