Searching for .356 Win...

Hey all, hopefully someone here can help- have a buddy that is desperately searching for .356 Win ammo for his favourite hunting rifle- as far as I can tell, only Winchester still produces it, any leads on where I can find some for him? Or does anyone know if .308 can be fireformed to reload it? Thanks!

Check with Clay at Prophet River, he had a 1/2 dozen boxes back in Feb/March. He may still have some or all? Don't expect ammo for those big bore 94's to be cheap. Winchester doesn't produce it any more except in limited edition runs now and again and when they do it's not cheap!!

Yes, it is easy to load 308 brass as 356. I did it before finding 100 pieces of 356 brass.

I used a 358 expander button to expand the neck in a single pass. (Lubed, of course.)

Don't load max,and the empties are easy to get out. The extractor won't grab the rimless case, but gravity usually gets them out. Or the touch of a cleaning rod.

Where are you located? Do you handload? I sold my 356win, but I still have brass and bullets on hand.
