Searching for a new pistol in 9mm...

I find it curious that you didn`t want anything Glock but were will to buy essentially S&W`s copy of it.
If you don`t like a Glock I fail to see how you will be happy with the M&P (yes, I`ve owned both and neither now).
Love the CZ and would like to try the Sig.

I love my new M&P...and I have always been a 1911 guy, so wasn't expecting to love it this much since I'm also not a huge fan of glocks...hope you will be happy with the new purchase...Enjoy.

I am looking for a S&W MP 9 CORE but have not found one yet, don't know whether to go with the 4.25" or 5" barrel but suppose the 5" might be more accurate. The addition of an MRM sight would have to wait, but then again deciding on which one and the dot size would have to be made without a mistake.

I think OP stated he doesn't have a large hand, so it may be just a personal preference on the grip. I do own and practice on both. even though it's not an issue for me, the brick like grip on glock is one size bigger compared to M&P. In my case, I can use mid or large backstrap on m&p. on my glock, I have to go without any backstrap. My hand is not very big either. same thing goes for my 1911 and g41. so, I guess it's the physical limitation. I am just lucky enough I still can shoot them both and do like them both.

some asked me how's MP40 shoot for newbies. I thought result speaks for itself. for me, I am still green and intend to shoot all common calibers equally. MP40 is my first gun ever, 3 months in, go to range with 100,150 rounds every week(missed one or two) mixed with 40 & 45(. today is my first time ever shooting @ 10 meters with 40 & 45. results are as below.

45. the main flyers are marked. red circles are where I want to hit

I found the 226 way too big for my sausage fingers. Cz fits nice enough, can't stand shooting a 2x4 glock. M&p is my favorite.

Hello,

Why not a kimber 1911 in 9mm? You have the 22lr for cheap practice and warm up a then compete with kimber 9mm?

I own one and like it. Also hkp30 is very smooth and cz is accurate and low recoil.

I would rather spend less than what a kimber is worth. I love my 1911, and the plan is some day to buy another in .45 :). I spent substantially less on this and now can buy 1000 rounds with what I saved in the difference.

There are as many opinions as there are firearms...... I have shot many handguns, thats my main interest. I have never come across a polymer gun I took to, Appreciate the feel and weight of a steel gun. In the price range you're talking about, I've never shot a finer gun than a CZ75-SP01"Canadian Edition", same as shadowline I believe.

Browning Hi-Power. That is all.
Love mine!….1968 "T"-series with the mag disco mod done.
