Hey everyone, had a question and didn't know where to put it so I thought I'd stick it here due to the fact that its a precision part and I couldn't post something in the EE anouncements section. Recently made a deal with what seemed like a great gun nut with a great trader rating. Everything was agreed on and I sent the funds on monday and since that haven't even heard a reply from him. Its a little worrysome when my EMT was accepted. I just wanted to know if this is acceptable?? I'm not whining about not having the part in my hands yet just the fact that I haven't heard anything from him. Its disheartening when everyone I've dealt with has been awsome and this gentleman seems no different with a great rating. Thanks

Agreed, that's why I didn't post a name. Just wondering if it was a little quick to worry or not. However if you take 2 minutes to go through your online banking maybe just take the extra minute to send the guy a quick line or 2 with your intentions. Just a thought. I know stuff happens.....I have an ex wife. Hahaha

OP, if you click on the seller's trader rating (under his avatar) the screen will show you his last activity on the forum. If he has been offline for a few days, then he is probably off camping or working or something. I would be more concerned if he was online regularly and ignoring messages than if he has been away.

Couple of days? Some members here do things like hunt/backpack/weeklong orgies/drinking binges. Not everyone can hit a computer every day.

The activity is a decent indicator, but not concrete. wife/kids could have hit a bookmark or something.

Sorry, didn't know about the activity thing. I just realized I coukld click on an option to see if someone reads your message. Thanks guys. Again, I know people are busy, I'm not that daft. Just looking for these little tips. Thanks again.

Im one of these guys that thinks communication is important. If i was in the middle of a deal with someone on here im not going to take off for 5 days without letting them know whats up. Sure emergencys happen etc,,, but you come home to sleep at night and it takes seconds to send a message to let the buyer know whats going on. People forget we are strangers on here for the most part, i wont take someones money without keeping good communication open so they feel comfortable they are not getting screwed.

This is another reason i ask for an address and phone number. Sometimes peoples computers break, if you didnt exchange numbers he cant contact you or you him.

I dont agree with ever leaving the buyer or seller sitting in the wind and not knowing whats going on. Its not right.

That being said hopefully he didnt have any kind of family emergency, as thats a different situation that would require a level of understanding for sure.

However, partying, leave and go camping are not valid excuses as far as im concerned. All he had to do was leave one message before he took off.
