I'm looking for a shotgun with specific specifications.

Fiber Optic front bead
pump action
12 gauge
Collapsible Stock
Cylinder Bore
Shortest barrel possible while still being non-restricted

any company make anything close to that or will I have to piece something together?

You're probably looking at an 870 with no less than a 12 1/2 inch barrel. Lots of parts out there, adapters for M4 stocks, receiver extension, stock and a sleeve front FO. Pretty sure you can go down to 12 1/2 as long as the overall is more than 26 1/2 with the stock collapsed

Don't think exactly what you are looking for is purchasable as is... probably have to piece it together. Don't know many shotguns that come with a short barrel from the factory like that, other than the 14" 590A1 (which is unobtainable new), the Fabarm STF/12, 11" (expensive but can buy them with the already short barrel), Fabarm Martial or Pistola w/short barrel, a Mossy 500 w/14" barrel kit or as the above poster stated, 870 or Grizzly w/short barrel - most likely put together.

Lots of info on 870 shorties if you want to search this section.

If you have a lot of money and can do without the collapsible stock, here's a factory 11" badass:

You can get the Pistola 11" with a stock, unsure if the collapsible would meet 26" though... or the 14" Martial w/collapsible

Wow ok I was thinking even a 14" barrel would do.

I'm trying to get something small enough to be easily carried in a Helicopter.

Getting a 14" barrel isn't that easy either. Fabarm or an 870 and acquiring the barrel would be your best bets.

Just get a Mossberg 500 SPX, 18.5", 5+1, w/folding or collapsible stock and you are good to go. It's listed as 36" collapsed. Never been in a helicopter but I seriously doubt you can't fit a 36" shotgun in there.

Can get a stock like this if you want... Probably be around 31" when folded.

What about something like the KSG? It's 26.1" but I've never had a chance to hold one so no idea of quality and how hard it might be to load and unload it as needed.

The Dominion Arms Grizzly with the 18.5" barrel and side folding stock should fold down to sub 30" I would think. It's magazine fed also which is nice as that is easier to load and unload if need be. Once again though, no idea on the quality of them.

The current shotgun is an Armsan RS-X2 which is decent, but it's 38" overall and it's a tight fit.

Get a 8.5" or 12.5" grizzly with ghost ring sights, put a Mesa tactical LEO stock kit on it. 8.5" with LEO fully collapsed will be 26", 12.5" with stock fully collapsed will be 30". Both barrel lengths will be non restricted in length, the only criteria it won't meet is the fibre optic sight. Paint out the front sight a high viz color and you're good to go. Or buy a Fabarm and be extra happy about your choice.

You might as well buy the Fabarm if you are going to shell out the dough for the KSG... in my opinion. But that's just me. Barrels shorter than 18.5" aren't that easy to come by and few companies will ship them to a customer straight from production. Both my 14" 590A1 and 14" Fabarm Pro Forces (w/fixed stocks) are around 33" in OAL. Just measured my 14" Fabarm as 32.75" OAL. The 18.5" Mossy 500 w/folder would be shorter.

Sounds like you will be spending a lot of money just to save a few inches... might be better off buying a Mare's Leg, 25" in 44mag and non-restricted.

Personally I wouldn't want to try and drop a Polar Bear with a 44 Mag haha

Benelli Supernova with 14" barrel. Only thing it's missing is a fiber optic front bead. And that's a shotgun you depend your life on. I ran thousands of shells through mine and never once did it malfunction. Even with the worst quality ammo.

But if you want something with a bit more cool factor, get the Fabarm.

This is the 16" STF-12 with folding stock.

If you get a bead sighted gun, take a look at XS sights, they have a white outline tritium big dot that will attach to the bead, there are also lots of suppliers that have the same for FO sights - for a gun that could be used in the dark (24/7 at times in polar bear country) tritium is a good plan. Lots of options.

^ This. End of Thread. Go buy it OP as it's everything that you've listed and you don't have to acquire anything.
