searching for a stripped AR lower.

The way I see it, the only way I'll be able to afford an AR15 is to buy a lower and build it over time. I could go for a DA/Norc but I want to be able to take it to the states from time to time. Plus, I'm not a fan of buying American guns from China. Plus, it looks like buying a stripped lower and assembling it with the LPK and buffer kits would be at least on par with buying a built lower or even (potentially) cheaper.

So I've been looking for stripped lowers. I've found that saskatoongunworks.com has an Aero Precision AR lower for about $130. Irunguns.com has an Aero Precision for $99 USD. I don't know if either have them in stock and I don't know how much shipping would be. I know there are some polymer lowers for cheaper but I want standard mil-spec.

Have you seen a better price anywhere than the two I mentioned? Does it work out to be cheaper to build your own lower?

Why isn't saving up an option? Im kinda the same way, I buy parts separate because Im impatient, but if I really want something I save for it.....
 
Why not buy a norinco/da and use the upper and lower parts and put on the areo lower receiver. You be at about $600 total.
 
You'd be suprised who Aero has provided Lowers for at one-point and time (read DD & BCM). You'd have no worries going with their products.
 
Yeah, I'd be happy with Aero, spikes, mega, etc. RRA, bushmaster, etc are all way too expensive for the name.

It's hard for me to save in general. My family is pretty good with finances but I had to sink $900 into my car a few weeks ago. Just seems like whenever I save a few hundred bucks, something costs a few hundred bucks to fix.
 
No problems with either of my Z-marked NEA lowers but they both have CMMG/DPMS parts kits in them. I mean, it's a lower; as long as it's in spec you'll be fine.
 
Yeah, the one I found has a CMMG parts kit that comes with it. Not a bad price for a lower and parts kit.

Good idea on getting the norc and replacing the lower. That's likely one of the cheapest ways to do it. Plus I'd learn better taking it apart first before trying to put it together.
 
No issues with my NEA lower, but the LPK is DPMS, trigger is Geissele, generic buffer tube/spring/buffer and Ace Skeleton stock (splurged a little and got the cf tube for it recently). I'll second fenceline.. You can use everything but the trigger and bcg.
 
considering the rear threaded portion of the lower where the buffer tube screws in is quite thin I would consider the following:

6061 – Mechanical Properties
Ultimate Tensile Strength 45000 psi
Tensile Yield Strength 40000 psi
Fatigue Strength 14000 psi
Shear Strength 30000 psi
Hardness, Rockwell 40
Machinability 50%

7075 – Mechanical Properties
Ultimate Tensile Strength 83000 psi
Tensile Yield Strength 73000 psi
Fatigue Strength 23000 psi
Shear Strength 48000 psi
Hardness, Rockwell 53.5
Machinability 70%
