It's probably from the early 70's and it's a Sears 4C .22lr only bolt action repeater.Anyhow would this be a Savage Arms product.I'd like to know as it's a real beater that cycles and groups like a higher end rifle and I'd like to be able to get my hands on a couple of more mags.

Here is a list that identifies sears models to their parent manufacture counterpart...

However no 4C is listed and a web search gives no answers, perhaps a picture of the rifle would help some of the more knowledgeable folks here give you a answer.

Actually the Sears 4C(Firearms Referance #40601-1 for the 508mm barrel or 40601-2 for the 533mm barrel) was manufactured by Lakefield Arms. Sears catalogue/model # 602.5558 should be marked on the left side of the barrel. I've seen these magazines for sale in some of the Crappy Tires store still.

Savage purchase Lakefield about 10 years ago and all Savage .22, 17 rifles are made in Lakefield Ontario. I would not be suprised if the Savage bolt action mags would fit your sears .22LR
