I have a Sears Model 8C and it needs a hug:( Any info on disassembly and trigger tuning would be great. It shoots good but missfeeds, jams and has a trigger pull I could pull a boat with, other than that it's great:D.

Winnipeg Toymaker is right. It's a Lakefield 64, autoloading 22, no safety. Does anybody know where I can download schematics? I checked Numrich Corp and they don't list it, neither does Brownells. I'd just like to have something to reference when I take this thing apart to clean.

It is the same as the new SAVAGE 64 but Savage has added a safety to the trigger group, but everything else is the same Goto http://www.savagearms.com/downloads.htm download " AUTOLOADERS MODELS 62/64/954" by looking at the Savage 64 and your SEARS MODEL 8C You should be able to tell if yours is the Lakefield 64 which was the Cooey 64B , then the Winchester Cooey 64B, and now the Savage 64 with all sorts of different letters after it.

No schematic required, they're dead simple to clean. There's no tricks to reassembly, just pay attention to the order you removed stuff and do it in reverse. DON'T overtighten the nut which secures the barrel/receiver U-clamp (you'll know what I mean when you take it down).
