Hello,
I have just picked up this 22 and looking for anlittle info and help.
So far all I can find out is that it is probably a marlin 81, pre '68 as no serial number on it.
If some one could tell me if that sounds right.
Also, I need to fix it up a bit, the tube feed at the end to lead the bullet up is broken/gone. So I need to find a part, also the safety is broke, I have the leaver but missing the screw.
What I was wondering was what I need to repair and where to get parts.
If someone has a pic of the receiver in and out of the stock to give me an idea of what needs to be replaced. I have a cooey and the feeder slides from the tube insert but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Pleas help if you can.
Thank you

Thanks camster, that helps a bit, just unsure of which parts I would need. I will take it apart in a bit and take some pics and upload them. I guess the hardest part is considering the cost of the fix compared to value of the rifle. I have no idea the value as it was taken on a trade, got 2 cooeys (repeater and 75) and this, the cooey stock is done, can't see fixing it though I like the paint on it, it's a youth stock. But if I can find a replacement for cheap then it's good. But the sears is way nicer then the other 2 other then the repair needed, it's in immaculate shape, looks like it was a straight safe queen for decades. I'm reluctant to go to a smith as I don't want to dump a bunch of cash.
Anyways, I'll post a few pics, and see if you or anyone can tell me what's missing.

got the pics done, stupid question though, how do you upload them, it seems to ask for a link for adding pics instead of browse and add

I have slow dialup so, I don't have all your pictures yet...

I don't see any sort of feed mechanism on your Marlin (so far...)

Comparing it with your Cooey won't help too much( Although, that is a pretty nifty lookin' 60!). Apples and, oranges...the cooey's mag-tube will move whan you cycle it. As far as I know it's the only .22 that does this (Cooey repeating .22, model 60 and, 600)

to Start:
-Follower (the part that actually pushes a shell through the mag-tube)
-I don't see anything on yours for lifter/carrier assembly...not all pics are here yet though.

add-on:

Brownell's diagram is better...
