Seating bullets too deep? (405 grain cast for 45-70)

I bought an SBL as well and a bunch of cast bullets from the bullet barn except the 405 gr bullets I have are the ones with the 3 lube groves. I bought the RCBS 3 die set and a Lee crimp die. When seating the bullet I seat them to the COAL recommended 2.550 but when crimping I noticed it pushed the bullet in to 2.529 so I'm in the same predicament as the OP. Is it still safe to shoot these loads if not i'll just give them a couple taps out
