Seating depth???

The article seems to cover all the bases, but beware, the max seating depth minus the .005 - .062", (the COL -> Cartridge Overall Length) still has to fit your mag, if you're using one. The mag on my Savage limits my COL, especially when using heavier bullets.

Cool, the load I am working on today is a 22-250, 36gr varmint grenade, Likely impossible to make this too long for my mag, very small bullets. But I will also be working on some 7mm-08 later.

Another thing to think about is the neck tension holding your bullet in. I've read somewhere that you want your bullet about one caliber deep in the case for proper tension. ie: your .224" bullets should be seated ~ .224" into the case.

When reloading for my Savage, I used various bullet weights. The heavy ones affected the COL by being too long for the mag. The light ones were nearly faling out of the cases when I went for max COL  . It's a balancing act. You want one thing, but may not be able to get it due to something else.

PS
FWIW, my light 40gr gopher pills are seated ~.190" into the case. Have no idea how far off the lands they are. So far, accuracy is still within the 1 MOA range.
