i have an issue with my rcbs 338 seating die it seats the bullet, then the bullet binds in the the seating plug and raising the handle pulls the bullet right out and it sticks in the seating plug
and i have to remove the plug force the stuck bullet out of the plug it did the same thing with 2 make of different bullets. i swapped out the seating plug with the one out of my 257 dies and it worked all right it was once fired federal nickle platted brass has anyone else had a similar issue

Maybe some kind of lube applied to the bullet will help, along with polishing the die with fine sandpaper.

I noticed my Lee die was sticking to the bullets last night, not enough to change seating depth or anything, but enough to pick the case up off the shell holder until the case hit the other side of the shell holder and then came free.

bullets?

have you checked: take the seating stem out and fit the bullet tip to see where on the bullet is the contact.

once I beded a bullet on the stem to get straight seating of the bullet ( 6,5 140 berger VLD in a lee seater)

i polished and lubed the stem i should have mentioned in my initial post but didn't help. the bullets are nosler ballistic tips and speer grand slam they seem to slightly spread the plug and gripping the bullet at the start of the ogive fairly tightly it takes quite a bit of twisting and flexing to get the bullets out

Try beveling the mouth of the seating plug, meaning rounding and polishing the mouth of the seating plug.

Also some die makers if you send them 2 or 3 bullets will make a custom seater plug.

I have never had your problem when using my Forster benchrest seating dies the seater plus is polished at the factory. (subliminal suggestion)
Also you can see the seater plug will not crush and have a problem with plastic tipped bullets. ;)
