Is everyone unforthcoming about certain firearms they own? Not talking about illegal firearms, (which no one should have) but a sporting firearm that is not divulged. Or has most shown all the firearms that they own.

Discretion is mandatory in this day and age. "Secrets" are for cowards, liars and criminals. I don't want to know your "secrets."

I would not call them "secretive," but I have a few collector rifles that I have never photographed and posted. Most of what I picture are rifles that see use at the range or in the field... nice rifles, in excellent condition, because my OCD cannot tolerate crappy firearms, regardless of purpose. I took pictures of this M77 Mark II Express .30-06 this morning at the request of member "Slimbo." The M77 Mark II Express (RSE) was designed as the little brother to the M77 Mark II Magnum (RSM) rifles, designed for dangerous game. Where the RSM can be stout and somewhat muzzle heavy, particularly in .375 H&H, the RSE is a wonderfully balanced rifle, with features and fit and finish of expensive custom safari rifles, including the Express rib that is milled as one piece with the barrel, and lovely Express sights. This particular rifle is As New in the original factory box, but desperately needs to attend a plains game safari.

I'm not secretive about my firearms. But I do take care to watch where and to who I talk about them with. I also use imgur for photos as it scrubs the data hidden in the photo.

Very nice rifle, Hoyt. Is it an early rifle, hence the action has that plumb colour appearance. BTW, a big bull moose in the sights of that rifle would be a great experience.

My coworkers don't know i own guns
Most of my neighbors don't know I own guns
My friends know I own guns
My good friends know exactly which guns I own
My wife knows there's a safe in basement with some stuff in it

The people I work the closest with know that I compete in shooting tournments regularly ... they see the pictures on my desk of my son and I holding medals and posing with guns. They also follow me on FB see it as well. 80% of co-workers are women and they don't seem to be freaked out.

I live on a street with at lease 50 houses... I know 11 of my neighbors and they all know that shoot almost every weekend (weather permitting). Of the 11 neighbors that know I'm shooter ... 3 of them have their PAL and another 3 have thier RPAL.

Damn... I really like were I live ...at least 55% of my of neighbors (that I know of) have their license.
I should get to know the other 39 neighbors LOL

To me it depends on where you live.
If I lived in a bigger city (especially in the Eastern half of the country), then I would definitely keep gun ownership on the down low.

Crimes involving firearms here in Regina is actually higher (on per capita) than most think. A lot of Regina citizens recognize that the gun crimes are usually done with homemade zip guns and stolen farm guns.

If I’ve learned anything from other outdoors forums it’s that sharing a picture of a dead ungulate is an invite for pms asking about hunting in your area or judgement from the peanut gallery ( no matter trophy size or regs), way more shy of sharing game pics than gun pics.

All my guns ultimately get there pics posted, in the EE lol
