While I had a sectioned 700 bolt for inspection I took this picture and some measurements. I thought I would post it for general information.

The bolt head insert diameter is approximately .570”. From the front of the bolt nose to the rear of the insert is approximately 1.350”. The “spacer” at the rear of the insert is approximately .070” thick. The larger diameter of the firing pin hole is approximately .175” and the diameter of the spacer hole is approximately .265”. It appears to be silver soldered in place.

If the firing pin tip is bushed the bushing should be .250” in length measured from the bolt face. That exact length insures the firing pin tip is always in the bushing and that the gas escape hole in the bolt is not covered or affected by the bushing. If the bushing extends beyond that length, then the gas escape hole should be re-drilled after.
