No wonder the 260 is so slow comparedto the 6.5 x 47; the barrel is 8 1/4" shorter. If you consider 20 fps/inch of barrel, you would have around and extra 160 fps to add to the 260 velocities. I am using 120's out of a 28" barrel and I am getting 2880 fps out fo the 260 without pushing them very hard.

And these loads are" Lawyer" approved, who really don't want you to shoot at all, in case you might sue the company.

Your right Andy, but I have never seen load data from any other book showing hunting or target rifle using a 18" barrel, AR 15 maybe. to me its just Lapua trying to show that the 6.5 by 47 is a better cartridge !! and that is not true as far as what both cartridges can produce in energy or speed using same bullet

I guess I can understand the 18 3/4" barrel for the 260 as it would be found in the Rem 7.

That's not a comparison of anything. It's load data. A comparison would have the ballistics using like rifles and barrel lengths.
