see through millet mounts

so-I am purchasing a 9.3x57 Husqvarna with open sights and weaver bases already on it-what are the advantages/disadvantages of installing a see through mount?

Junk. Your head will be too high to use the scope comfortably, and your field of view will be obstructed to use the opens. Go with a quick detach scope mount instead.

When I got my first rifle I had them, and found myself jumping back and forth between the scope and irons when a deer appeared. Took them off and gave them away. Use one or the other, not both. The only advantage of having a high mounted scope is if your bolt throw is high, but even then I'd go with a high ring and not the see-thru's.

The one great advantage/disadvantage depending on your personal taste you will either own the ugliest Husky on the planet or one you think looks cool from your perspective, I think fom the post you can tell my opinion.

Other than a see through mount -what options are available to accomodate the bolt on a #96,other than having it cut and rewelded?

It can be bent, or I think brownell's sells conversions. Or, you could have a foward mount installed, and buy an extended eye reflief scope.

See through mounts are generally not nearly as strong and therefore don't hold zero nearly as well.

I found out the previous owner had an aimpoint on it-so that may be a viable option

See Through Mounts with a good quality scope is kind of like putting Mud Flaps on a Space Ship....
