I have a Mod.70(1980) 375H&H,24'' heavy barrel with Leupold LPS 1.5x6x42.
At the 1.5 setting and up to 3x I can see the barrel. Now if the iron sights were on that would be even more distracting.
Is that inherent to any scope with a 42mm objective.I tried a Swarovski 1.5x6x42 and it's more or less the same.
Do you find that annoying?

It's quite normal to see the sights or end of the barrel with the scope on a low-power setting, the size of the objective doesn't have much to do with it. It's nothing to worry about, just get used to it.

I suppose that's better than seeing the tip of someone else's barrel through your scope.

Would higher rings do anything for this?
