Seeking advice and information on Mauser C96

Maybe 15K but as others mentioned, forget about it. Ooops, just saw another guy said the same number. Interesting.

Don't know if you can use "antique" and "realistic" in the same sentence. Given how prices on antiques have doubled in the last 5 years, I'd say 15k.

No, the gun in Switzer's won't get accepted unless you can get Paul Mauser's archive to find you the actual production date (there is a chance).

What are the chances of that happening and how much would that even realistically cost to determine from the archive?

Cost used to be $50 in 2017. The issue is how long it takes, so you have to buy it and then figure things out. There is a chance - the features all fit, but it's thankless to try and guess the odds.

Check the Paul Mauser Archive page, it lists the documents they have. I have written to Mr Baudino and he was very willing to certify mine based on the sales records but I did not take advantage - mine is a very low serial well within the easily accepted range, so nothing to be gained.

I don't have the funds or interest to make a go at certifying and getting a letter for that particular c96, but if someone wants to, I can help (I'm a verifier and have gotten a few antiques lettered).
