Read the very informative story in the current NFA magazine on the author’s quest for a W&S aka, Enfield 38S&W 38/200 revolver.
He said he researched the s/n on Armsresearch.co.uk site & possibly subsequent Webley & Scott.com.
Seems you cannot just look up a serial number, but send them £20 for a lookup, Kinda like the official Colt Archives letter request which is U$100.00-$120.00 request.
However, the site claims that most of the pre-WW1 records are lost, incomplete, or unavailable. Email requests for lookups are unavailable as you must submit a request form using snailmail & payment.
Trying to decide if it’s worth the effort lookup for a Boer war MKIV.
