I am reloading 9mm for use indoor and I am using the following...

125 grain LTC
CCI 500 primers
Unique powder

Looked up data for 124gr/unique on Alliant Web Site and maximum is 5.8 grains. I was going to start at 5.0 grains and work up but here are my problems...

My 125 gr LTC bullets actually weigh in the 129 - 131 range, I have to seat the bullet so far into the cartridge that I will be compressing the 5 grain load (see pics below)

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on what I should do...

Thanks in advance.

Seems as too much powder.

Lyman: 125gr --3.4-4.5gr Unique OAL 1.115" ----- bullet is of diff shape
Speer: 125gr -- 4.1-4.5gr Unique OAL 1.130" ------LRN

Since your bullet is heavier, you can start at lower powder charger too, say 3.6gr and make a few with 0.2gr step and run them thru chrono.

Odd....

124gr -- 5.2 - 5.8 Unique OAL 1.120 ---- UCSP

Simple Solution: Dont seat the bullet that deep. As long as it feeds OAL is a minor detail.

That is MAX OAL for proper feed due to bullet profile. Not so simple. Anyone have a hornady or lyman or ... data book that they can look up the recipe...

I have speer and nosler books... Nosler was a waste of money, unless using Nosler bullets.

Thanks

129g-131g LEAD bullets,I would be using 130g loading info.Lyman pistol and revolver handbook 2nd edition recommends for lead bullet 130 gr using Unique Powder MIN 3.5 MAX 4.0 OAL 1.016
I would seat my bullets a bit longer (as long as there is no feeding problems with the mag) than what you show in the picture

My current load for 130gr LRN 9mm is 4.3gr of Unique.

I would reccomend using the 130gr data, and then a Ladder test to see wich load is the best out of your firearm.

Which indoor range are loading for Don?

Cheers!

Where did you get your 130gr data? I got 124 and 147?!?!?!?

I got my data from Wolf bullets directly, they make a 130 gr LRN bullet. Go to the web site (3xw, wolfbulltes . com) fire off an email to them, they sent off the info fairly quickly. I would just give you the min-max loads they gave me but I only had 250 of those bullets, and I haven't used them since. I am sure the info is around here somewhere....... but where?

I shoot at stabbos Mondays, I'm a member of the RWF but I never seem to get out there, I'm either at Condi or WPC....

Cheers!
