Ok, this is the Readers Digest version.
I dropped off my Browning BLR .22 Grade 2 in 1999 and all he had to do was refinish the stocks and replace the firing pin. Have had hundreds of excuses why it wasn't finished for the past 15 years, its kind of a ritual every time I meet him.
Apparently it was apart and he had a flood the parts were lying on a cement ledge and you know the rest of the story.
I need a gunsmith that has connection to Browning?
I want him to purchase the part or parts and install them in my Browning BLR .22.
He's a great old guy but is on his last legs and I would like it back before the funeral.

theres alway a glimer of hope !

i'm waiting for the return of prosperity and a wealthy middle class with jobs for everyone .... ( err.. sorry for poking fun .... but you really ought to get your rifle back and send it to a real gun smith )

check numrich gun parts.... they just might have your firing pin

Umm yeah, just go and get your gun back first; have you even seen it to KNOW he still actually has it?

15 years... that's just CrAzY talk! I'd really like to know that you've confirmed he actually still has it. Just sayin

I had a Winchester Model 12 pump for some work at a smith for 3 years. I tried to be patient but finally called him and said put it in a box I am coming to pick it up. (2 hour drive) When I got there a few days later he had the thing done. I asked why it had taken so long and I was told" you wanted a lot of work done" the work consisted of barrel trimming, installing a Poly Choke and wood re finish. Needless to say no more of my business went that way. I have a friend that was recently quoted 3 months on a chamber ream job. 5 months later the story is "we have been busy but should get to it soon". I deal with one good smith who does the work as it comes in within reason allowing for parts orders etc. If anyone wants his name PM me. Sorry for the hi jack.

Gave a "smith" 1 month to realign a shell latch, after it wasn't done I went and picked it up, he tried to charge me for it but I got my hands on the gun before he did and I walked out. Took it to another guy and it was done in 4 days with a new part.

Get it back and send it to a Browning approved warranty depot to have it rebuilt properly. Present him with the bill and tell him pay or meet you in small claims court. That is irresponsible and total BS on his part!!

Pretty sure Reliable gun can do browning warranty work.

Or get in touch with Browning Canada and ask if they a smith they would suggest for this sort of job.

+1 on retrieve the gun and get your parts from Western Gun Parts in Edmonton.

You win the longest suffering customer award.

The "smith" doesn't have the gun anymore. Its over but the cryin. Anyhow, that doesn't fix the problem that you are MISSING a gun. I'd be telling the guy you are calling the cops if he doesn't produce "A" gun to you as a replacement. (It won't be yours , but at least you won't be out a gun. )
