I'm considering getting one of those cheap TULA SKS's and a crate of ammo. I'm getting bewildered by the choices, and the two retailers I emailed about shipping costs never bothered responding to me.

So - who's retailing cheap SKS's + crate of ammo deals right now? I'm in SW Ontario if that matters.

CanadaAmmo is. Crate of 7.62x39 and a decient SKS. Free shipping as well. I have had great experiences every time I have bought from them. Also SFRC is great to deal with, but they charge shipping (unless you want to drive to the store, near Kingston, would be cheaper then shipping for you I think)

Well, shipping will kill you on a lot of these deals, weighing close to 40-50 pounds with rifle and ammo. If you don't mind getting a Chinese SKS, go with the canam deal. The Chinese are just as good as the Russian sks's so not to worry about that. But the Russians look a lot nicer.

SFRC, site sponsor, has russian birch stock SKS and 1320 rounds of surplus on for $389.95. Or you can get a chinese SKS and a crate of 1440 rounds of surplus for $360.00 from Marstar (site sponsor). These will probably be your best bet for Ontario with lower shipping than out of province places.

If you wanna come to GTA I'll sell you my crate and SKS when it arrives from the Marstar AK-74 deal. Make an offer. It will be here this week or next at the latest.

"...shipping will kill you on a lot of these deals..." Yep. It'll negate any cost savings. The sellers do not set the shipping rates either. The carrier does it and because of government interference, nobody gets to decide who the carrier will be.

Anyone bought a Sks from leaverarms they are haveing a sale Russian sks Tula for $159 they say they are overall good condition with good bores. I have never bought from them just wondering how there sks are . I could get a very good to excellent sks from Marstar for $179 and it comes with a hard case so it's really only $150 and marstar has a no bs warrinty .

I picked my first SKS up from lever arms yesterday. I'm still new at this but to my untrained eye they all seemed to be in pretty decent shape. Mine had all matching numbers besides the magazine.

All I really care about is if it has a good bore and the gas system is good. .
I'm still thinking I might go with marstar , I need another case anyways .
And they have there sks 's rated at very good to excellent .

For me, when buying milsurp, nothing beats looking one over in person. you know exactly what your getting. I would gladly pay more to pick my own out of the bunch.
