I'm considering getting a 20 Gauge Weatherby semi-auto for wife and myself to use for skeet. She's got a Mossberg Bantam 500 20 that us primarily for Deer hunting, and it's a pain taking the Red Dot off it for skeet.

The Weatherby looks to be better priced than the Remington 1100 in 20 Gauge, has anyone got any experience to share on the SA-20?

Much appreciated,

While I can not speak about having owned a SAS a quick search at "Shotgunworld.com found this bit of info:http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=6289&highlight=weatherby
Either you will like them or you wont, simple as that.

That URL doesn't link to info on the SA-08 model and the thread discusses a different shotgun.....if I'm not too off track Weatherby had started to introduce the Turk made shotguns around 2008/2009.

Anyway, SGW has a few other threads on the semi-auto. Most of the reviews (actually make that all of the reviews) that I've read so far spoke positively about the SA-08. Personally, I would like to check out a 28ga once that becomes available.

As far as I'm concerned SA-08'S are a reat gun for the $. Clean all the oil out of the action with scrubber/gunk remover and just touch the slides with oil --- they work great. The only only ones with problems cycling were not cleaned of shipping oil before use -- after they are cleaned they will puke out spent hull 10 or so feet.

Got mine, First shot with the light remington gun club loads didn't eject because the action was kinda tight. Hasn't missed a beat since then. I loveeee it. Handles sweet and for the price its hard to beat, infact i doubt that many of the 800-1000 dollar semis are much better. Its going to be blasting some geese and ducks and deer this fall , thats for sure.
