Seen any Mossberg MVP Patrol 223 rifles?

I have narrowed down my choice of next guns to a bolt 223.

I will go with either a Mossberg MVP patrol or a CZ 600 Lux in 223.

Has anyone actually seen any Mossberg MVP patrol rifles at stores in Canada any time recently?

Any other feedback on these options?

PS: not sure if this thread should have gone hear or in the hunting arms section. Mods move if appropriate.
PPS: I like the mossberg option due to the ar mags...otherwise would go CZ

The mags don't seat firmly in mine. Significant wobble, like a 2010 edm festival. Though they feed fine, as a selling feature I've out grown the novelty.

This ^ I personally would pay much more for a better built one, unfortunately these are not. I’ve owned both the .223 and 308 versions.

As for the CZ, don’t think anyone has one in hand yet. Also may not be the look your wanting but the 600 Trail will accept AR mags.

The MVP Scout was on my list for the same reasons but I could find one to handle before purchasing.
After searching for other options I bought a Ruger American Ranch 16.25" 5.56 and it was decent enough. When the MRX Bison 12.5" became available I bought one and sold the RAR.
The Bison ended up checking more boxes than the Ruger...... ymmv

I found the Mossberg to have a delicate bolt design to work with AR magazines. If our Dictator goes after AR mags could be a bad thing. I as well bought a Bison for varmints which will soon have proprietary magazines, this is the only dual magazine platform. Still need to stretch it out but at 48 yards its one jagged hole. I dislike Tupperware stocks.

I had a Thunder Ranch model, to say it was underwhelming would be a huge understatement. Go with the CZ, it's no as tacticool but it will be a much nicer rifle.

Good to know. Thanks.

MVP has a sloppy bolt, and it has some issues with harder primers.
Winchester .223 varmint rounds, you click and it goes bang.
Federal Independence .556 rounds, you go click and then wait to eject the unfired round.
Haven’t been able yet to find a stronger firing pin spring to see if that solves the problem.

I read all the bad press before buying my MVP Predator, ie never buy a Mossberg other than a shotgun.

I love my MVP, its compact, handy, has an awesome looking stock, threaded barrel, takes AR mags and came bundled with a vortex scope for $900.

While the bolt feels "loose" it works just fine if you dont baby it. I havent had any feeding issues. Ive felt similar wobble on Ruger and Savage rifles.

I’ve got the 308 version
The steel mag that came with it didn’t feed worth crap but a plastic p mag works fine and so does a nork m14 mag
Ya the bolt is sloppy fitting but it shoots pretty darn good so it’s a keeper :)

What about the Howa Mini Action?

I can't say anything about the Mossberg or the Ruger, but I can say for certain that if you are thinking BCL Bison, you are rolling the dice...

FWIW I have an MVP predator and hate the mentioned mag wobble. The whole rifle feels cheap. That being said, it'll do 0.5 moa all day with 55gn blitzkings over h4198. Factory loads were another issue, nothing impressive. For the $600ish I paid a couple years back I'm happy but it wouldn't be my first choice. My father has a r700 sps that groups equally well and has none of the mentioned issues. If you handload and find one for cheap it's worth considering but definitely don't look for a new one.

I have an MVP Varmint in 5.56, and it's fine. Picky with loadings, but shoots Sierra 69 grn's very well. The mag's don't bother me, and if you think an MVP's bolt slop is bad, you should see a K-98 or P-14!
