If you watch the video and see that the stacks of "replacement parts" to "reactivate" the dewats, you might begin to suspect that they probably won't work very well with all those holes drilled through the barrels and the big gobs of weld in the chambers...

And then there are the revolvers with large sections of the barrel and frame milled through...

You'd think that the police would be encouraging the owners to sell all that stuff to terrorists, after they lose their sight and fingers, they'd probably be easier to "police up"...



But I guess that they're just like all the police here who stack up airsoft guns, starters pistols & BB guns and drag the media through crowing about the guns they've seized from dangerous criminals, and "gotten off the street"...with the media lapping it up and spreading it around...

They probably did that to make it look all the more impressive.

I also wonder, seeing as all lot of it is ex military, if some office has lined his pockets selling of the contents of a depot he was to oversee. Much like what happened after the USSR collapsed.
 
Obviously some well stocked up surplus dealer warehouse. I see some real black powder collectables, sabers, historical artefacts along with machining tools and equipment.
Smugglers do not have those kind of items in their possession. This is more like show off just for publicity more than real bust of the criminal ring. Pathetic, really.

Actually they're far more dangerous. Those are collets for holding the tools used in a milling machine. Those can be used to hold the very tools that turned once active firearms into junk.
