I shortened the LOP and took the A300, Champion Skybird launcher and a case of clay pigeons (all three bought at the Wholesale Sport closing sale

) to the range yesterday.
I had planned to check the POA/POI and then pattern it with the three chokes it came with but I forgot my target stand so I just shot clays.
The launcher worked well and was quite easy to use. I just launched them straight ahead and at the most varied their direction 20 degrees left and right.
In the pouring rain I hit 56 out of 60 pigeons. I had two failures to extract shooting Fiocchi #8s and Score 7.5s. The Scores seemed to have more oomph than the Fiocchis as their hulls went much further.
I shot with the modified choke and it was so easy to hit these fairly close in clays that I let them go out further and shot them on the way down to make it more fun.
The A300 pointed naturally and I don't recall even seeing the bead. I was pulling through the bird and then firing and it seemed to work well. I have to work on my follow through.
The A300 felt very light and easy/smooth to swing. I was wearing a Browning Trapper Creek vest but no Reactar pad but the felt recoil was VERY light to the point of being unnoticeable.
I'm pretty happy with the A300. A couple more outings and I will screw up my nerve and go to a club trap shoot. I have ordered a Birchwood Casey shell catcher for trap.
The only glitch is the barrel cap is stuck on and since it is tapered I am unsure how to break it loose. I will try putting a heat gun on it carefully and try getting it off.
