What is the opinion on the rings that have the self centering nylon insert?
It seems like a good idea.
Are there any that are particularly good? any brands to stay away from?

No personal experience with the Burris Signature Zee rings, but I was in need of a solution to a problem I had with running out of windage adjustment on a scope and these were highly recommended by many people. After researching them, I found that based on what I was reading and saw on the video, these rings would be an excellent choice and pretty easy to use. Unfortunately I was unable to get them locally, so I bought Millet Angle-Locs instead.

If you go to the Burris website, there is an excellent video there about the rings.

Won't use anything else.

Automatically cures alignment issues caused by poor machining of mounting surfaces and drilling for base screws, which may be far more common than suspected.

No lapping required.

And no ugly ring marks on your $800 scope!

Never had a scope slip, either.
