Self Painted 1187 - Opinions Wanted

Posted first in the General Discussion forum, my mistake
Although my 1187 looked great solid black, I decided too go out on a limb and try spray painting the handguard and the stock tan :onCrack: I used Krylon Camoflauge Tan spray paint ($6.29 at Canadian Tire) and so far it's turned out to be a solid and durable coat. It dried in less than 10 minutes too.
I think it looks pretty good. Your thoughts? Feel free to be negative; everyone is different
Just for kicks, anybody got some ideas for accessories? Once I can find the &*$# sling I bought I'll add it.

That was my worry. I wasn't sure of the black and tan was going to look good. But now that I check it more often I doubt that it would look any better if it were completely tan
 
I think you have to paint the whole thing and then work a little black or brown in there, but that's just me. This 10/22 used the tan as base.

It's a speed feed ramp, it replaces the stupid button thingy that Remington put there. I forget the brand, I have one on my 11-87 also. A must have if you are going to use speed loaders on an 11-87 for sure.

Actually, that's an "Easyloader". It's installed to replace the carrier release button and helps for faster reloads.

It sticks out to help align shells as a ramp to easier guide the shells into the magazine tube.

It's made by the same people who make the aftermarket bolt catch and oversized safety button for my 1201FP, Dave's Metal Works.

Brumster, I like the paint job on the furniture, just please, don't paint the receiver, or the pipe. :D

You should order one of their tactical bolt handles for your 11-87 as well. It won't snag on your gear as much as the Choate one presently installed.
