Sell me on a Remington 700

Thank you !!!!!!!! I dont know what the FK is wrong with people !!!! Anyone who bashes Remington makes me think they dont know the first thing about rifles !

They don't. They know about stroking their own fur and they are looking for validation because they bought something else.

Tikkas are as precise a rifle as you can buy off the shelf. Remingtons are some of the best engineered actions ever made, and most of their guns shoot just fine. If I pipe up and tell you I think Savage are sloppy junk, I will have every Stevens-worshiper with a barrel nut wrench crying heresy...so I won't do that.

Hahahahaa not only will they cry heresy, they'll chase you down and try and beat you with said barrel-nut wrench lol.
Well said though. I think it comes down to accessories. How much do you plan to upgrade? Lots? Then get a Remington.
Not as much? Get anything else. I own a couple model 700's, a few savages, a browning, a couple rugers, lee enfieds, and mauser's. Most of which are modified in one way or the other. I'm planning on doing a tikka build for my next project just for something different! Variety is the spice of life :)
....meaning buy one of everything!

All fair comments here. What I will say is that of all the rifles that I have picked up and played with only Tikkas and Browings stand out in my mind as being smooth and tight, nice craftsmanship or whatever you want to call it. Remington's have always felt gritty to me and they don't do themselves justice with the stocks they slap on the base models ... All my 2 cents I guess, not looking to offend anyone. Either way, I think I will be picking up a Remmy to try one out, but mostly because of the accessories that one can purchase down the road.

Its funny , night and day between this forum and the hunting forum. Hunting forum will bash the hell out of Remington ... Go on " PRECISION RIFLE " forum and everyone is showing you there custom 700's that are shooting .5 moa or better. Or even there 700 police or XCR tacticals that are putting up .5 MOA accuracy. Lot more " doing !" on this side, and a lot less " Talking !"
