Sell my 870 for a grizz?

Ive got an 870 express and Im wanting a new project. I want a short barreled shotgun to start off with. I know grizzlys are a little rough but that can be fixed. My 870 is an express so it's not uber smooth. To put a short barrel on my action would include the cost of the barrel plus a mag spring and cap and would get pricey. If I sold my 870 I could purchase the grizz, have the short shotty and the rest of my money could be invested in the build. Would I be wise to sell the express and just get a grizz or would I regret it?
 
I say you order a Grizz first. Have a close look, if you don't like it, don't touch it, ship it back and get a refund.
 
I would suggest building your 870 instead of buying the Grizzly. It may cost a little more in the long run, but at least you still have a Remington and not a Chinese copy. Not that there is anything wrong with the Chinese guns, but I personally would prefer the right thing.

mag spring and cap? Huh? I bought a 12.5" Dlask. dropped it on, and was good to go. couldn;t be more simple. grizz = Chinese knockoff garbage (flame on mallninjas!). keep your 870. it will smooth out in short order.

spend money on quality first. it's worth it in the long run.

That price is for a standard 870 with long barrel and no tube extension. Also I live in atlantic Canada, we pay more taxes and shipping etc and can't get anything as cheap as other provinces out west. So around here this gun will fetch at least $300. If I sell a gun to purchase another it leaves me with more disposable income for the project even if I dont break even.

Yes mag cap and spring, mine has a factory 18" barrel with remington mag extension. With a short barrel the mag tube would stick out way past the barrel.

Well, sell your factory parts (18" Barrel and Mag Extension) and buy the aftermarket parts you want. Your not going to loose much, if any money at all on the transition. Or keep your 18" Barrel and you will have 2 setups if needed.

I think this is what Ill end up doing. It's got a quite a bit done to it now, I may even be wiser to leave it as is for another project

Finish your project, shoot a bunch, and when the heat's off the credit card, (spring/summer), then start another project.

Are you really crushing alot of clays, and eating alot of songbirds, knee deep in November?

I'm out on the line, but for one, we've got no snow here yet, and two, I'm a lunatic who's cut a slit in a wool blanket and am wearing it over my light parka, over my hoodie, over my full undershirt.

I've also got a dozen of those reusable handwarmers.

Did I mention I'm a lunatic?

Yea I was just looking at the 870 and its conigured pretty good now. Copstock, flashlight, heat sheild etc. I'll just have to think of another project. I wish I had the money for an impulse project because then I wouldnt have to make up my mind lol. As for the credit card, I never use it unless I have the cash..as of now visa owes me money lol.
 
I just bought a Grizz, I love it! Works and looks the same as my Remington. I like it alot!! Keep the Remington and buy a Grizz too!!
