Seller doesnt repspond.

I think its high time you took this to the next level...someone out there has a restricted that is registered to you, and its out of your control. Cover your a##, call in the CFO/RCMP.
Just my opinion.

Yup. It would be mighty awkward if that pistol showed up at a crime scene and the papertrail ended in your wallet. Call the CFC, at least let them know that something is up.

with something like this you should know EXACTLY who you are dealing with , including a phone conversation .

worst case scenario you report the gun as " stolen " by the previous owner . but that would be a absolute last resort .

Just got an email from him that he was away to clean up the ####ty things.
He said the gun will be at my door in next few days.

I'll keep it posted.

Thanks guys.

That's great news!
As we all assumed...it had not been sent. I don't see why he couldn't notify you if there was to be a delay in the shipping of the firearm.
I certainly would not be leaving a positive feedback for this guy.

I almost feel the same.. but there could have been more due dilligence by the OP..

i very seldomly deal with people with low trader ratings, i recently had a deal with a guy and i noticed he had none, he sent me a pic of his pal, his driverslicense, his buisness card, as for the whole scan of the pal, if the guy has 20+ good trader ratings im not too worried, but i always ask for a scan of the pal when im selling a firearm, getting all that info can save your ass in the long run, if they hesitate to give you that info its throwing red flags, hopefully this guy has sent the firearm and all will be well, OP next time make sure you get info, so that if this happens again you dont get stuck,

Good news Ryan!....Boy, that would have just about killed me!....Still a real #### move by him. The guy couldn't get to a computer at all in three weeks to keep you informed till now???

anyone ever try C.O.D (cash on delivery) ??

I have tried this once and it works just fine and both parties are safe. Also, when making a deal with users with low trader rating (or any trader rating), let the seller start the transfer and you complete it before you send funds.

both of these methods work very well.

Ive used COD, a couple times, but there is a additional charge from the post office for that service.

true, but well worth the charge especially on users with very low trader ratings.

I've never had a fear of not getting a package delivered, but I do have the fear of the item being damaged or not in the shape it was advertised in. I've had this issue once and it took me over 6 months to get the item repaired under warranty *lucky me it had warranty* - but lost 6 months not being able to use the item.

In this case the transfer was completed. All that did was make the buyer responsible for the "missing" gun.

With internet access what it is today, I can see no legitimate reason for not contacting the buyer to notify him of any delay. In my books, the guy is a #### and I hope the OP indicates as much in the sellers feedback.

I totally agree, but I don't think it would be the buyers problem if there was no proof of shipping from Canada Post (or whoever is delivering it).

Bottom line - unless there was a tragic event that happened to the seller, the seller should have contacted the buyer and told them of the delay. I have had a few delays in the past, and as a seller I would immediately let the buyer know of any delays.

Just because he has not logged on, does not mean he did not receive your messages. He could be getting them through his email as well. I just got scammed for $100 on the EE by a pos. I'm giving him 2 more days to send me my refund. Told me he would 3 days ago. He ignored me for a good month before I got CFC involved. Anyone in Lethbridge, Alberta wanna make an easy $50? Just go collect my money and I'll give you half. I have all the mans info!

Having been in the situation described above, I would agree. A few years ago, I was supposed to ship a gun to a buyer, but, I ended up in the OR for an emergency appendectomy that very day. However, I still made every effort to contact the buyer, and managed to finally do so, immediately upon being released from the hospital after surgery.

It's called the "Good guy" code...

Seller says "I've been real busy with _______________" (insert 'family emergency', 'death in the family', 'polishing your new gun up real nice')

Translation: "When I got your money, I immediately hit the bar and pissed it all away, now I have to wait to get some money off someone else so I can afford to mail off your gun... if I don't go to the bar again."
