I just managed to sooth one of my greatest regrets.
35 years ago, I sold my Ruger #1AB in 7x57 to a friend,
who has rejected my many pleas to buy it back. [He
says he likes it too much]
On here, a couple of weeks ago, I managed to score
a #1 AB in 7x57.
Had it to the range yesterday....put 3 - 150 grain Swift
Scirocco II's into less that 1 moa. graph says 2824 avg.

Of about 60 or 70 hunting firearms that I have owned and admired and let go, the only one I can think of that I'd like to have again was a very, very good CZ Brno ZKK 600 in .308.
It had better than average wood, perfect fit and finish, was supplied with both the single set trigger and standard trigger, original Zeiss Jena 4x scope in QD mount that removed easily and returned to zero every time, And of course the pop up peep sight. It fit me, shot perfectly well with most any load, including cast bullet loads. Against all odds, it put moderate cast bullet loads to the same 100 yd. point of impact as full power factory or hand loads. It was well made, fun and artistic. I never had even one functional problem with it. I traded it for a very efficient Sako Forester L579 that was plain by comparison and lacked the power to hold my interest, and which I eventually tired of owning. Sigh.

I traded a mid-war Springfield Garand for a late-war German G43. The second rifle has been nothing but a nuisance to get running, but considering the appreciation in asking price, I don't think I did too badly. The remorse (of course) is the M1 didn't cost me much at the time, but was in superb Danish rearsenal condition.

I sold a 686-6 with a tuned trigger and a high standard supermatic for $$ towards a down payment on a house.... I miss the sweet trigger on that smith...

Winchester 1903 converted from 351 win to 357 mag. 444 marlin, unreliable, but a nice shooter.
My first rifle was a Ruger 300 Win. Early stainless model with a Leupold 3-9 scope. I saved up for almost a year mowing lawns odd jobs. When I was 22 and laid off I sold it to help pay the rent. I didn't really like the gun but the sentimental value was there.
Sad part was the next day I was called back to work.

Guido i still have that remington TI 30-06 i bought from you,was my 1st deal on gunnutz.I changed the stock back to the original bell but with the bdl bottom metal.Shot a few rams and a couple caribou and moose a couple wolves and a grizz as a back up gunner.It's a keeper for sure with the 168 tsx at 2830 under MOA out to 600.When supplies look limited it's the first gun i make sure i have a few hundred rounds for.It has always been a no fuss ready to go gun in the locker.If it makes you feel any better it's been well cared for and been out every fall for at least a few days treckin around.Not sure if i should thank you for my 1st deal on gunnuts being great or tell you you have cost me a pile of money?Thanks anyway it's always a fun ride Jared

Winchester 1892, serial number 52, went to Las Crusas, New Mexico. I see Doug Turnbull has now done a complete restoration on it. Sad from my stand point as it was an honest old ranch rifle from the B.C interior. Also a NWMP 1876 in fine shape. Acht, ! water under the bridge I suppose, bills needed paid at the time. Also a very fine 1899 Savage in 25-35, maybe some day I will find a replacement to shoot the coyotes with. And one more while I'm at it a nice cased 12 bore Paradox gun by William Evans. D.H.
before we moved to canada i got a brand new rsi number one in 270 win for a very decent price and when i bring in to the range one member offered a very huge amount for that time and very low for today price.
never know how it shoots but seems the chamois did not like that rifle ...

Said he couldn't miss.
Nawt ahhh uno.
He did buy a new Charles Dally O/U and said he was dewn 50% hits.
This was yesterday also.
Now I'm in tears.
